On October 3, 2017, Kehilla hosted a public debate on housing affordability in the Greater Toronto Area at the Design Exchange. The debate was meant to address topics about the growing housing crisis in the city. The wide-reaching problem impacts nearly every segment of the population from recent graduates, to new families, low-income workers, newcomers and the growing senior population. Buying or renting housing that meets individual needs (i.e. is the right size, in the right location at a price that is affordable) is becoming increasingly challenging. Kehilla brought together professionals in the real estate, government and development sectors to hear workable solutions from all points of view.
